I use a carbon sketch pencil on white paper when I draw. I press hard with the pencil and a polarity in contrast is created: black on white. I press lightly with the pencil and all the nuances of in-between grays emerge: mysterious and illusive.

When I begin, music is turned on and my eyes are kept closed. Time passes and eyes open. The white paper is now covered with scribbled lines. I look there for inspiration. Once found, my control begins: and more lines while subtracting other; darken an area here and lighten an area there; flatten out a surface or scrumble up a texture. This work reminds me of LIFE�S DUALITIES.
